A LESSON FROM THE MOUNTAIN

Recently, our family celebrated my father-in-law’s 70th birthday in the breathtaking God’s Window in Swellendam. Hiking the mountains reminded me again of perspective — how everything changes when you climb higher and look wider.

When we shift our lens, our entire world transforms.

We all face mountains, but the question is not how big the mountain is — it’s how big our vision is.

As life architects, we get to design our lives, businesses, and wealth through our choices, our words, and our actions.

LESSONS FROM A TOUGH CLIMB

During a recent family hike in Citrusdal (yes - the 4.5 km uphill, 700m climb that looked easier on paper!), we learned a few timeless truths:

Stay positive as a team.

Be careful on the way down - humility keeps you steady.

The reward at the top is worth the climb.

Afterwards, sitting together in the cool river, each of us shared what our personal mountains were for the months ahead. And somehow, by speaking them aloud, they already seemed smaller.
